The Soft Landing Group: Somatic Skills & Safe and Sound Protocol
a 6-Week Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) Group for Regulation + Connection, Co-facilitated by Melissa Woody, LCSW, SEP & Elena Johnson, LPC
Limited to 6 participants | $675

This 6-week virtual group offers a guided introduction to the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), a listening-based, nervous system intervention designed to support regulation, connection, and resilience. Grounded in the science of Polyvagal Theory, SSP uses specially filtered music to help repattern the autonomic nervous system— supporting shifts out of chronic survival states (like anxiety, shutdown, or hypervigilance) and into greater feelings of safety and connection. You can read more about the SSP here: https://www.whatisthessp.com
Throughout the group, we’ll combine SSP listening sessions with weekly psychoeducation and somatic practices, including:
An introduction to Polyvagal Theory in accessible, experiential language
Mapping your own nervous system patterns and survival responses
Learning somatic skills to support your system
Co-regulation in community
Guided reflection + integration support
This group is ideal for individuals who are navigating chronic stress, emotional dysregulation, trauma history, mind-body health challenges or are just curious to learn more about their nervous system and experience more ease and flexibility— and who feel ready to explore nervous system work gently, in connection with others. If you think you might be interested in joining us, please fill out the SSP interest form here.
What's included:
6 live group sessions (90 minutes each, virtual)
Access to the SSP program + guided listening support during the group
Continued access to SSP Core one month after group completion
Weekly practices + prompts to support integration
This group may be supportive if you:
Often feel stuck in patterns of hypervigilance, anxiety, or difficulty relaxing, even when things are “fine”
Experience periods of numbness, shutdown, or disconnection from self or others
Tend to feel overwhelmed by sensory input or social environments
Have a sense that their nervous system is always on high alert
Feel like they’re “doing all the right things” in therapy or healing work but still feel dysregulated
Are living with chronic stress, pain, fatigue, or other persistent symptoms that don’t fully resolve with talk-based approaches
Want to explore how sound and safe connection can support your system in feeling more flexible, grounded, and connected
Are open to slow, body-based approaches and curious about what’s happening beneath your thoughts or behaviors
Have enough safety and support in your life to explore regulation without becoming overwhelmed
No prior experience with somatics, therapy, or SSP is required — just a willingness to explore at your own pace, with care and curiosity.
Please note: This group is not a substitute for therapy and may not be the right fit for individuals who are in acute crisis, have active suicidal ideation, or are currently navigating destabilizing life circumstances.
